Tulane University Online Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business offers a flexible, online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program that can be customized with up to two of three optional concentrations in business analytics, finance and marketing. Students also have the option of completing a general track, instead selecting from any elective courses to complete their degree.
This Online MBA program is for students who want to learn to solve business problems holistically and lead organizations across industries with an ethical approach. Experienced faculty combine business theory with practical examples so that students can understand how to apply them in real-world situations.
Online MBA program graduates may go on to careers in marketing, consulting, finance, business analytics, and business operations.

What to Expect from the Tulane University Online MBA
Admission Requirements: Prospective students must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and three to five years of professional work experience is preferred. The GMAT is not required.
Applicants must submit an online application, official transcripts, a resume, two letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. International students must submit proof of English language proficiency.
Study Plan: The online MBA begins in the fall, spring, and summer. The program can be completed in two years and no campus visits are required. Students complete 28 credits of core courses and 18 credits of electives.
Curriculum: The Tulane online MBA program requires the completion of 46 credits. Two-credit core courses include financial accounting; managerial accounting; economics for managers; managerial finance; essentials of business law; corporate communications; managing people; supply chain and operations management; introduction to business statistics; analytics for managers; strategy; marketing management; business model development; and advanced managerial finance.
Students must complete nine credits in a subject to earn a concentration and can earn up to two concentrations. General MBA students choose six courses from any of the electives.
- General Electives: Negotiations; operational risk management; managing for success
- Business Analytics Courses: Three of the following: social media and online marketing; web analytics; advanced spreadsheet modeling; SQL database fundamentals and business intelligence
- Finance Courses: Investments; financial policies and valuation; financial statement analysis
- Marketing Courses: Strategic brand management; social media and online marketing; and one of the following: management of technology and innovation; web analytics
Online Experience: Tulane University delivers online courses through the Canvas learning management system (LMS) called MyTulane. Coursework is delivered asynchronously, and faculty and students meet live weekly for one hour of discussion, collaboration, and question-and-answer sessions. Group projects, assignments, readings, video lectures, assessments, and discussion boards may all be included in the course delivery.
Online student resources include student success coaching, live library support, personalized advising, academic tutoring, and technology support. Consultants from the Career Management Center provide career coaching and support to help MBA students reach their career goals and aspirations.
On-Site Requirements: The Tulane University Online MBA program is 100-percent online with no campus visits required.
