Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) offers online MBA programs in business, international banking and finance, international trade and logistics, criminal justice, and healthcare administration. This program is offered through the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business.
TAMIU is a member of an organization called Quality Matters (QM), which provides peer reviews of MBA courses, recommendations for course development and student evaluation, and rubrics designed to ensure the courses meet quality standards. In addition, the online MBA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
Multicultural faculty who are experts in their fields deliver innovative courses in an online environment. The international focus of the programs prepares graduates to enter into business in a global society.
Core courses for all concentrations cover financial management, marketing management, managerial economics, business research, organizational behavior, ethics, human resource management, and strategic management. Each concentration then has a set of required electives that must be completed.
The program is designed for applicants with a bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited business school. However, those who do not meet this requirement may still be accepted with additional prep modules required. Applicants with less than a 3.25 upper-level GPA must submit GMAT or GRE test scores and additional materials.

What to Expect from the TAMIU Online MBA
Admission Requirements: TAMIU offers automatic admission to applicants who hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited business school with an upper-level GPA of 3.25 or higher, and who submit a resume that details work experience and three references with contact information. Proof of English language proficiency may be required as necessary. Those who meet these criteria but do not have a degree from an accredited business school can be automatically admitted upon review by the ARSSB to determine which prep modules will need to be completed.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria for automatic admission must submit acceptable GRE/GMAT/PAEP test scores from the last five years. As well, a personal statement and two letters of reference are required. International applicants will have their credentials evaluated by TAMIU.
Study Plan: The online MBA programs begin twice in the fall, spring, and summer. Although no campus visits are required, TAMIU seeks to provide students with relevant experiences and paid internships to further their business skills.
Curriculum: The Texas A&M International University online MBA comprises 30 credits, including core courses and specialty electives for each area of emphasis. Those without a business degree may need to complete the following prep modules: concepts in finance and economics; concepts and accounting and information systems; and concepts in management and marketing.
Core courses include managerial economics; business research methods; financial management; financial statement analysis; strategic management; seminar in management concepts; and seminar in marketing management. Emphasis courses are as follows:
Management: Human resource development; leadership and decision-making; entrepreneurship
International Banking and Finance Courses: International financial markets and institutions; international finance; international investments
International Business: Global environments of business; international logistics; international management
International Trade and Logistics: Import operations and practice; export operations and practice; international logistics
Criminal Justice: Foundations in criminal justice; white-collar crime; cybercrime
Healthcare Administration: Organizational behavior; transformational leadership; and healthcare informatics
Online Experience: Courses are delivered asynchronously through Blackboard. Students may connect anywhere and use a laptop, tablet, or mobile device to complete and submit assignments and participate in online discussions. Courses follow a set of rubrics designed by Quality Matters and are reviewed through a peer-review process.
Online students have access to the Killiam Library, which belongs to the TexShare network and features joint electronic databases. The Killiam Library is also a member of the OCLC worldwide library network. For technical support and software questions, students can contact the Help Desk of the Office of Information Technology.
The Office of Veterans Affairs offers services to veterans, active military, and dependents and spouses of disabled or deceased veterans. The Office of Career Services offers career counseling and other career-minded services. Finally, TAMIU offers a bookstore, an online student handbook, financial aid services, and faculty support.
On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the online MBA is 100 percent online.
