Focus areas include business strategy, global business practices, project management, human resources, innovation and creativity, team building, interpersonal relationships, organizational development, and organizational change.

The Fairleigh Dickinson University online MBA begins twice each in the fall, spring, and summer. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. The GMAT and GRE are no longer required for admission. Graduates of the FDU online MBA may go on to positions such as finance manager, management consultant, operations manager, or investment banker.

What to Expect from the Fairleigh Dickinson University Online MBA

Admission Requirements: FDU offers a streamlined application process that includes a graduate application form, official transcripts, and a personal statement. Graduate test scores such as the GMAT or GRE are no longer required for admission. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Lower GPA averages may be considered for admission.

Study Plan: The FDU online MBA can be completed in 2.5 years on a part-time basis. Start dates land twice each in the fall, spring, and summer. Courses are 100 percent online and run in eight-week and 15-week sessions, depending on the course. No campus visits or internships are required. A global business capstone is included in the program.

Online MBA Curriculum: The Fairleigh Dickinson University online MBA comprises 43 credits including nine credits of electives.

The MBA core includes economics for business decisions; organizations behavior and leadership; data science and analytics; information systems for managers; financial decision-making; accounting decision-making; innovations and entrepreneurial mindset; supply and value chain management; and marketing decision-making. Students also take the global business capstone course.

Electives are called discipline-enhancing courses and can be taken from a variety of fields covering project management, international business, finance, accounting, management, supply chain management, pharmaceutical management, and marketing. Examples of elective courses may include investment analysis; financial markets: theory and practice; marketing research; consumer behavior; principles of international business; logistics management; and managing sustainability.

Not all electives may be offered online. Students should inquire with their admissions counselor for a full list of elective classes offered.

Online Experience: FDU utilizes the Blackboard online learning management system (LMS) to deliver asynchronous online courses which may include elements delivered through Zoom videoconferencing.

Courses may include case studies, discussion boards, readings, assignments, assessments, lectures, and projects. Student services may include an online library, bookstore, graduate and pre-professional advisement, financial aid services, faculty office hours, technical support, and academic advising.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements as the FDU online MBA is 100 percent online.
