University of Mount Saint Vincent Online MBA Programs
The University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) offers a fully online master of business administration (MBA) with five tracks: general, healthcare management, international business, nonprofit management, and risk management.
The online MBA can be completed in 12 months or more and does not require the GMAT or campus visits. MBA students gain advanced knowledge of data analytics, marketing, economics, accounting, production management, global business, and strategic management.

What to Expect from the UMSV Online MBA Programs
Admission Requirements: Applicants to the online MBA must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. No GMAT or GRE is required.
Prospective students must submit an online application (no fee), two letters of recommendation, official transcripts, a resume, and a personal statement. Interested parties with a GPA below 2.75 may gain admission review by submitting a statement of purpose addressing their current work situation, any advanced training they have done, and why they are pursuing an MBA degree.
Study Plan: The online MBA program can be completed in 12 months or more. Accelerated courses last seven weeks each. UMSV offers start dates twice each in the fall, spring, and summer.
MBA Curriculum: The online MBA program comprises 30 to 36 credits. Leveling courses for students without a bachelor’s degree in business (BBA) include foundations of accounting, finance, and economics; foundations of management, human resources, and business law; and foundations of marketing and the management of information systems. Those with a BBA can have these courses waived.
All MBA tracks complete two management competency courses: data analysis and modeling for managers and operations and production management. Capstone courses for all tracks include strategic management and competing in a global business environment.
- General Courses: General MBA students choose 18 credits of courses from an approved list that includes courses from each track listed below.
- Healthcare Management Courses: Healthcare administration; healthcare finance; law for healthcare professionals; the healthcare system; marketing for healthcare programs; and healthcare policy
- International Business Courses: International marketing; international financial management; international management and cross-cultural communication; international economics; international political relations; international trade
- Nonprofit Management Courses: Theory and practice of nonprofit management; fundraising and institutional advancement; accounting and financial management for nonprofit organizations; law and governance of nonprofit organizations; social entrepreneurship and sustainability; marketing for nonprofit organizations
- Risk Management Courses: Managing risks and internal processes; data analytics: enhancing business insight and reporting; forensic accounting: use of data analytics and information technology; financial statement analysis; insurance; and logistics & supply chain management
Online Experience: The University of Mount Saint Vincent uses the Canvas online learning management system (LMS) to deliver asynchronous courses. Delivery components may include recorded lectures and videos, case studies, research assignments, readings, applicable assignments, discussion boards, and evaluations/exams.
The Academic Resource Center is available to online students for tutoring, individual support, group tutorials, writing help, workshops, and study skills training. UMSV administers a strengths and interests program designed to help students create a rewarding career path called the Oxley Integrated Advising Program.
Other online student services include technical support, mental health counseling services, library and bookstore services, financial aid support, and alumni support.
On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements for the UMSV online MBA, as the programs are 100 percent online.
